African American girls dating Japanese guys
A classic example that Japanese do not hate foreigners and that they can be really sensitive to the needs of others, is this email I received from an African American female who has found love in Japan.
“I am a study abroad student and 31 years old. I have been in Japan since April of this year and I love it! I’m staying on the Island of Kyushu. I am an African-American female. I have always been self-conscious about the stories that I have heard about Japan’s obsession with Westerners, mainly European-descent Westerners. I figured that a Japanese guy would never be interested in me. I’m a size 12, and almost all the girls here are skinny, petite and girlie. But from talking to my Japanese female friends they have told me that it’s not just me. They said (in their experience) that Japanese guys are just very shy. so I am still so shocked that I am now in a relationship with a wonderful guy! We had met a few times before and he thought I wasn’t interested in him. I was with my friends but I was definitely checking him out. The next time I met him was by pure coincidence. I went out alone and he saw me and bought me a drink. We ended of talking for 4 hours! I made the first move and kissed him on the cheek. The rest is history! I’m so happy! I guess my advice to any Black females out there is to just take a chance and go for it. And I feel like I should address the myth that Japanese guys are horrible in bed. Well, I realize that everyone is different but my guy is absolutely INCREDIBLE! He is VERY attentive to me, I don’t think that I need to explain what I mean :)) And unlike most Japanese guys he has no problem with holding my hand in public and giving me a light kiss. He may be the exception to the rule, but you never know until you try.”
