Beverly Hills Ninja movie review
Like Tokyo Raiders, this is not a Japanese movie per se but has such a huge Japanese component that I review it here and was the only reason I watched it.  And I am glad that I did.  Not only did it allow me to engage in my Japan addiction, it is so funny that watching it with two Japanese friends of mine, we were all rolling out laughing.
Starring Chris Farley as Haru, who aspires to be a true gaijin Great White ninja, but simply does not have what it takes, finds that he may actually have it when Nicolette Sheridan comes looking for one.  The action and the comedy is incredibly funny.  Strongly recommended to all fans of Japanese martial arts.

Tokyo Raiders movie review
Some of you may argue if this is the right place and I would say so because even though it is a Chinese movie, it is based almost entirely in Tokyo (with parts based in Hong Kong and Las Vegas) and apparently it was also made in Japanese, but I only got to watch the dubbed English version.
It stars Tony Leung, Ekin Cheng, Kelly Chen and Cecilia Chung, and Japanese stars like Toru Nakamura.  If you are not a Japan addict like me, you might just brush this movie off as yet another Asian martial arts movie with no substance, but if you watched such movies on Japanese television then you would love all the action, particularly that in Tokyo Bay around the Rainbow Bridge.  Yes it is not one of those intellectual movies that make you think for days, but it is not meant to be.
