Woman free like a bird
As my wife and I increasingly get addressed by the derogatory term “middle aged” (How the hell does anyone know how long will I live? What if I live a 100 years? What about those unfortunately people who die at 30? Will someone call them middle aged at 15?), I am getting more and more aware of the challenges that one inevitably faces in their 40s: boredom, sexless marriage, poor health, lack of excitement, etc.
That is why I decided to write my latest short story My Life As A Bird, about an American woman married to a Japanese man and living in Japan, who is going through her midlife crisis. Then in one of those moments of existential crisis she imagines that she is as free as a bird to do whatever she wants and that is when she tries the wildest things including seducing her straight girlfriend and having an orgy with her ex boyfriend and best friend’s husband.
